One person has died in a volcanic eruption in New Zealand on White Island of the country's north coast. The Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said there are about 50 people on the island, most of them tourists. Shaimaa Khalil has the latest. Tourists were seen walking inside the rim of the White Island crater just moments before the eruption. New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said a number of people were believed to be injured and are being transported to shore. Police said at least one of those evacuated from the island has been critically injured. The first face-to-face talks between Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky and Russia's president Putin take place in Paris later today. The summit aims to bring an end to the five-year-old conflict in eastern Ukraine. Jonah Fisher reports on the talks. They're happening because Ukraine has a new president, the former comedian Volodymyr Zelensky. He may be about to find out whether Russia's president Vladimir Putin is really interested in a deal. For the last five and a half years, Moscow has been arming, funding and many would say directly controlling fighters in two rebel-held parts of eastern Ukraine. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is to decide later on Monday whether Russia should receive an unprecedented four-year ban from all major international sporting events. An investigation found the country's authorities had tampered with computer data showing that athletes had cheated. Alex Capstick reports. Once again, Russia stands accused of covering up positive drug tests. That was the conclusion by experts who examined computer data released from a Moscow laboratory last January. They claimed the information was manipulated and that fake evidence had been planted in a bit to shift the blame elsewhere. The International Olympic Committee described the case as an insult to the sporting movement. And so WADA has been asked to reinstate a suspension that was controversially lifted in September 2018 following a previous doping conspiracy. Athletes who can show their clean will still be allowed to compete but under a neutral banner.
