People have different views about that importing movies or TV programs can contribute to the country’s culture. While I accept this option, I would argue that using local produce is essential because of its benefits.

On the one hand, there may have two important angles about the benefits of local movies and TV programmes to the national culture. From the education perspective, young people can learn about their nation’s history, stimulating national pride. For example, instead of learning history from boring textbooks, students in these days tend to choose to study their nation’ past by watching local-made documentaries and movies. From the life perspective, via movies and TV programmes which are relevant to the experience retold from someone can help audiences to familiar with the way of life in surroundings, skills to alive. In Vietnam, for instance, producers adapt to make a show known as “The gift of the life”. This show is small stories about the deep message towards either human affections or philosophies or the lessons of life.

On the other hand, overseas movies and TV programmes can help to boost local culture in some ways. Firstly, people may broaden their views about the knowledge and the culture of other countries. As a consequence, they can be curious to explore those such a way to an entertainment or adventure. For instance, “Fast and Furious” movie, people not only watch this kind of action movie to entertain but also the movie teaches the audience about a friendship, a family. Secondly, this is a great opportunity for locals to learn foreign languages such as English. For example, a well-known series film that helps a thousand people from many parts of the world to learn English is “Friends”.

In conclusion, although watching movies and TV programmes made from other countries results in a diversity of culture of a country, it seems to me that industrial movies and TV programmes in local should be encouraged to develop because of some vital contributions such as education and entertainment.
