The world ischanging at a fast paceand so are therules and normsof the society. Presently, it is believed that today’s children enjoy much more independence than the children of the past. Here, I would like toaccord withthe given statement.
There are manifold points to support my view.First and foremost, parents these days realize that their off springs are capable of deciding things on their own.To illustrate, with the power ofthe television, internet and other technical gadgetsin their hands, young generation today is most well informed than ever. Moreover, juvenilesin the past were not exposed to much information and meekly did what their parents told them to do. Therefore, children in this era are availing moreindependence and freedom. Adding to it, because of the boom in the IT sector, children grow up quicker than their parents did and they areaware ofalmost everything. As a result, guardians do not hesitate to give their children the power tomake decisions.
Further emphasizing, another reason that children are provided with more freedom nowadays is that parents do not have time to monitor their kids’ activities. To exemplify, in this fast paced world, both parents are working round the clock to meet the needs and desires of the family. Consequently, children areleft unattendedto enjoy their independence owing to ongoingworkaholic culturein the society. Moving further, the change in family structure from joint to nuclear has also led to more liberty being showered on juveniles. To justify, grandparents are no longer living with the family tokeep a watchful eye ontheir grand kids. Thence, children are relishing more of breathing space in the absence of such supervision.
To recapitulate, it can be stated that liberty provided to children these days inevitable. Thus, it is the responsibility of the parents to see thatexcessive freedomis not given which may go against their own children.
